Flaget Elementary School students are encouraged to join many of the activities offered to them. These opportunities are designed to enhance the student’s learning experience and allow them to further experience the sense of community as part of the Flaget family.
For students in grades K–2, we use the Amplify CKLA reading program. In grades 3–5, we use Savvas myView. If your child needs extra help with reading, we offer support through our Title I Reading Intervention program for grades K–5. We also have a certified reading teacher who works specifically with students in grades K–2 to provide additional support.
All of our reading programs are based on the Science of Reading, which is a research-backed approach required by the state of Indiana to help all students become strong readers.
For questions regarding information about reading instruction, contact Samantha McClure at smcclure@evdio.org.
Extracurricular activities are a great way to build social skils and lasting friendships, gain valuable time management skills, and develop dedication and self-confidence. These activities meet before school, during lunch, or after school.
Our extracurricular opportunities include: Math Bowl, Spelling Bee, Choir, Student Council, Art Club, Boy and Girl Scouts, and Drama.
At Flaget, we provide Christian character development through athletics. Anyone who is willing to try a sport should be allowed the opportunity.
Our sports opportunities include: basketball, golf, volleyball, tennis, and soccer.
